ACLIMATAR Privacy Policy

The Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. ThisPrivacy Policy details the information related to the data collected and managed by ACLIMATAR, provided by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT. When we collect any personal information, we act as a data controller. We are legally required to provide you with informationabout who we are, why and how we use your data and the rights you have over your data.

  1. WHO WE ARE

    This website is run by Centro International de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT), member of the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (visit the Alliance's website here). By using this website, the user consents and agrees to all the terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here. If you do not agree with such Terms, please refrain from using the website.

  2. DATA COLLECTED

    We collect anonymous data from every visitor of the ACLIMATAR platform to monitor traffic and check on problems. This includes information on web requests including IP addresses of site visitors, browser type and time of visit. When registering an account, we ask you to provide certain personal information such as your name and email to create your user profile. Unless it is required by law, wewill not share your personal information with third companies or individuals. You can view, change and remove the data you have associated with your profile. If you wish todelete your account you can do it using the delete button on your profile page. You must be 18 years of age or older to use ACLIMATAR. In certain jurisdictions, theage of majority may be older than 18, in which case, you must satisfy that age to become a member. ACLIMATAR uses cookies to control your authenticated session and whether or not you accept ourcookies. We don't store any other information through cookies.

  3. USER DATA / USER-GENERATED CONTENT

    We only use your personal information to provide you with better services or to let you knowinformation about ACLIMATAR. We take the privacy, confidentiality, and security of any data you submit or upload to ACLIMATAR very seriously. The User-Generated Content or user data is and will be yours. You retain ownership of the data. We will never share or access your data, unless granted permission by you, to provide you withtechnical assistance. By giving you these complete rights on your data it also means that you are thesole responsible for such data. In no circumstances The Alliance Bioversity-CIAT is responsible for data that you collect, store and share through ACLIMATAR. The Alliance Bioversity-CIAT may disclose and otherwise use your personal and other information where we reasonably believe such disclosure is needed to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation,legal process, or governmental request, (b) enforce applicable terms of use, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address illegal or suspected illegal activities (including payment and data fraud), security or technical issues, or (d) protect against harmto the rights, property or safety of The Alliance Bioversity-CIAT, its users or the public, as required orpermitted by law.

  4. PROTECTING YOUR DATA

    We use reasonable administrative, logical, physical and managerial measures to safeguard your personal information and data against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use and modification. These measures are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risks of storing yourdata in ACLIMATAR. To further protect your data, we encourage you never to share your login information and to changeyour passwords regularly.   5. RETENTION PERIOD FOR COLLECTED INFORMATION

    We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, but barring legal requirements, we will delete your full profile and the content of your repositories within 90 days of cancellation or termination. You can request at any time for us to remove any data from the database by sending an email to Alliance-ACLIMATAR@cgiar.org or by deleting your account. User data will be stored on-premises in our shared database's infrastructure. The host server is protected adhering to our privacy and cybersecurity policy aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

  6. YOUR RIGHTS OVER YOUR INFORMATION

    By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. You can also ask for it to be erased or ask us to stop using your information. The simplest way to do this is to cancel your account, which you can do at any time. You may also emailor write to us using the contact details above.

  7. YOUR RIGHT TO COMPLAIN

    If you have a complaint about our use of your information, you can contact the Colombian Data Protection Authority at contactenos@sic.gov.co or at Carrera 13 No. 27 – 00, Bogotá, Colombia

  8. CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

    We will update this Privacy Statement from time to time in response to changing legal, regulatory oroperational requirements. We will provide notice of any such changes (including when they will takeeffect). Your continued use of the ACLIMATAR platform after any such updates take effect will constitute acknowledgment and (as applicable) acceptance of those changes. If you do not wish to acknowledge or accept any updates to this Privacy Statement, you may cancel your use of the ACLIMATAR platform.
